CODA Player — Advanced settings

CODA Player for Windows has a few customisable features, accessed from the settings page (File > Settings...).

The "Home" pane

From the "Home" pane you can choose the language (currently only English), mute or unmute the audio, and show or hide the statusbar. It is also possible to set whether or not the player should start in full screen mode, or using the webservice set screen resolution. Finally, you may customise any of the four "hot keys" that change the window size.

The "Message" pane

From the "Message" pane you can change the message log directory and maximum size, and clear the log directory. The types of messages displayed in the statusbar or in dialogue boxes is also customisable.

The "Network" pane

From the "Network" pane you can change the cache directory and maximum size, and clear the cache directory. The cache stores downloaded content for later reuse. There is also a timeout in milliseconds to set how long the CODA Player should wait before giving up on a download.

The pane also has proxy setting, to configure how the CODA Player should connect to the internet. The default option is 'No proxy', which also works for transparent proxies. If you wish to connect through a proxy, enter its details in 'Manual proxy configuration'. You will need the host-name, port and credentials. Optionally, you may provide a list of websites which will be accessed directly instead of passing through the proxy, for example *.mycorporation.com.

If you have a PAC file, you can use 'Automatic proxy configuration'. This needs a URL to a PAC file, such as http://intranet.mycorporation.com/PROXY.PAC. You may also leave this field blank, in which case the application will search for this file.

The "Support" pane

The "Support" pane provides useful administrative shortcuts. From it, you can reset the player to default, export and import settings, display logs or system information, etc. These buttons are available in case of troubleshooting.

Multiple Instances

It is possible to run multiple copies of CODA Player on one single computer. This may be useful when multiple screens are attached to a single computer, and you wish to display different content on each. To create a new instance of CODA Player, create a new shortcut to it, right-click the short-cut and select Properties, and edit the shortcut command line by adding a new instance number (e.g. 1, 2, 3, ...).

Doing this will cause CODA Player to start a new copy, which will need to be registered as though it were a first time ever install. It will appear as a different player in the web-service, and can be assigned content separately.
